This session will show leaders strategies to employ in their practice and at their school to support, engage, and empower teachers to actively engage in a community of learning.

Leaders will know and be able to:
  • Implement a consistent loop of support, engagement, and empowerment.
  • Automate tasks designed to increase communication and teacher empowerment.
  • Increase their ability to coach rather than evaluate.
  • Create and distribute effective communication of classroom instruction to the community at large.

The most important influence on student academic success is the classroom teacher and the ability of that teacher to increase both their own and the public's perception of the usefulness of the school experience. This session will show emerging leaders how to achieve this level of communication with their community through the empowerment of teachers.
Through demonstration and activities, this session will cover the Circle of Empowerment, Digital Tools for efficiency and to support reflection, techniques to empower and rejuvenate leaders and teachers as contributors to a positive culture, and it will conclude with an examination of the communication product they have created.
